About the Role
We are looking for a Network Cabling Technician to support equipment installation, network setup, structured cabling, and onsite deployment activities. This role works closely with senior engineers to ensure clean, professional installations of customer network environments, including hardware setup, cable routing, testing, troubleshooting, and network administration support.

Key Responsibilities:

Cabling, Infrastructure & Physical Installation
  • Perform cable installation including Cat5e/6/6A runs, labeling, termination, and testing.
  • Install and manage fiber optic cable connections, ensuring proper handling, routing, and polishing/termination where required.
  • Complete racking and stacking of equipment including switches, firewalls, servers, patch panels, and related hardware.
  • Build and organize network racks, ensuring proper cable management, airflow, and accessibility.
  • Support voice over IP (VoIP) setups including handset installation, wiring, and testing.
  • Ensure all cabling meets industry standards and project specifications.
Network Installation & Administration
  • Assist with network installation, including mounting equipment, running cables, connecting devices, and validating connectivity.
  • Work with networking platforms including Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Arista, and others during deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in customer deployments and provide onsite technical support.
Support & Troubleshooting
  • Provide Day 2 customer support for installed environments to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the Help Desk on advanced technical issues related to networking, cabling, and equipment function.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to cabling, connectivity, hardware placement, VoIP, or device configuration.
Project Documentation & Coordination
  • Document all cabling, rack layouts, network changes, and installed equipment.
  • Attend customer meetings as needed to support project scoping and requirements gathering.
  • Coordinate with senior engineers to ensure solutions align with company standards before working with clients.
Team Collaboration & Training
  • Support junior technicians as needed on installation tasks and cabling best practices.
  • Pursue ongoing certifications and training.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on project assignments and technical oversight tasks.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in network cabling, infrastructure installation, or field technician roles.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Cable installation
    • Fiber optic cable handling
    • Rack building
    • Racking and stacking equipment
    • VoIP hardware setup
    • Basic network administration tasks
  • Familiarity with networking vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling standards and testing procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot wiring, connectivity, and hardware issues.
  • Strong customer communication skills during onsite work.

Preferred and Nice to Have Qualifications:
  • Nice to Have: Certifications, such as Network+, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, or cabling-specific credentials.
  • Nice to Have: Experience with MSP or multi-site deployment environments.
  • Preferred Advanced understanding of structured wiring standards and testing equipment.

Physical & Travel Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders, lifts, and in network closets.
  • Travel to various customer sites as needed.
